MV Robert 1975

N51 11.097 W4 38.803

The MV Robert was a small, single crew coaster which capsized and sank off the eastern side of Lundy in 1975.
She was en route from Cardiff to Rouen when her cargo shifted and she began to sink. The Croyde Bay lifeboat attended and recued the four crew who were taken to Ilfracombe.

Today this is Lundy’s only intact wreck laying on her port side  in 18 m of water. It is prolific with life with large anemones and nudibranches making it ideal for photographers. There are also many seals in the area.
